The Best Place to Sip on Tea in Makati
I’ll have to admit, shopping, lunch & high tea were not on our list of ‘to-dos’ when visiting Makati. I simply couldn’t resist when I passed by and saw people sipping tea served out of colorful pots + plates of pastries spread out over every table top. Maybe it’s just the ‘Alice’ in me that pulls up a chair at the sight of any tea party. It certainly wasn’t Trevor’s cup of tea (no pun intended).
If you stop by any of the malls in Manila, you are sure to find a ‘Mary Grace Cafe‘. We had lunch at one of the locations at Century City Mall in Makati. The restaurant sits on the bottom floor of the shopping center and it’s very hard to miss. Look for the small Parisian style tables & chairs, surrounded by beautiful plants and over hanging lanterns. X marks the spot.
Each table is lit up with candles, a small bouquet of tiny seashells & a table number. Beneath the table glass, enjoy reading personalized notes on stationary from former customers.

I enjoyed one of their ‘Perfect Plate Options’: A Fresh Tomato & Herb Plate | Salad: Grilled Chicken & Orange Salad with Black Olive Dressing | Pasta: Fresh Tomato & Herb Pasta + their dessert of the day – Tiramisu.
Trevor enjoyed the Grilled Chicken Cous Cous: Grilled rosemary-marinated chicken fillets, over spicy steamed couscous, with a homemade tomato concase and blanched asparagus.
Do NOT miss the Tiramisu. It was the best I’ve tasted. Word has it that their Hot Chocolate, signature Ensaymada and Cheese Rolls are not to be missed.
